RESPONSIBLE COOPERATIVE MINING AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
A better way to mining and it’s activities
The Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (RCOMSDEP) is a national initiative that empowers mining cooperatives and small-scale miners through training, innovation, and responsible practices.
We promote sustainable mining, build community resilience, and create opportunities for growth by combining skills development with cooperative support. Our goal is to transform mining into a force for safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible development.

PRESS RELEASE –
For Immediate Release
It has come to the attention of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) that certain individuals and groups are fraudulently posing as agents or representatives of the Secretariat, misleading the public, extorting money from miners and other stakeholders by promising to facilitate access to mineralized areas for responsible cooperative mining. These activities constitute criminal conduct under the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
We wish to state unequivocally and for the avoidance of doubt that rCOMSDEP does not operate through, and has not appointed, any agents, representatives, or intermediaries in any region or district of Ghana. Consequently:
No individual or group is authorized to collect payments, fees, or levies on behalf of rCOMSDEP.
No appointments whatsoever have been made for the position of ‘Regional Coordinator,’ ‘District Coordinator,’ or any similar title.
Any person presenting themselves as such is an imposter acting without any mandate from this Secretariat.
The public is hereby advised to refrain from engaging with such unscrupulous individuals or groups. Any persons or groups who choose to engage with these self-appointed agents or purported regional coordinators do so entirely at their own risk. rCOMSDEP shall not be liable for any losses, damages, or consequences arising from such engagements.
Notice is further served that any person found to be engaged in these illegal activities will be arrested, prosecuted, and made to face the full rigours of the law.

A Message From the President
The launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Program (rCOMSDEP) marks a new chapter in Ghana’s journey toward sustainable and responsible small-scale mining. Through rCOMSDEP, we are empowering miners with modern skills, promoting legal and environmentally sound practices, and creating opportunities that uplift communities while protecting our natural heritage. This initiative reflects our vision of a mining sector built on discipline, cooperation, and innovation — one that contributes to national growth and secures a better future for all.
Message from the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources
rCOMSDEP is designed to address the shortcomings of the National Alternative Employment and Livelihood Programme and Community Mining Scheme initiatives by promoting sustainable mining practices and creating viable jobs, especially in mining communities. “The time has come to turn our waters blue and our forests green through responsible mining. We begin that journey today. We must succeed. It is our obligation to future generations,” “Let us redefine the future of artisanal and small-scale mining. Together, we can build a sector that is safe, legal, and sustainable.”
